A very short slice about spring and more snow . . .
The Easter Season typically brings a spirit of new beginnings. In my mind, this time of year signals the turning of the seasonal clock from winter to spring. It is a time of renewed hope and eager optimism, as plants, animals, and birds spring to life.
And so, when I reached for my ringing cell phone during the dawn hours yesterday morning, knowing my superintendent would be delivering the dreaded message of yet another snow day, you might imagine my spring optimism suffered a major blow.

I feel your pain, Lanny. “Oh, no!” this cannot be happening. But it did happen. On the bright side, Villanova won!

I’m with you! Sometimes I wonder if spring will ever get here.

Who would have thought teachers would be saying “a dreaded snow day.”

Agree with standingtall47! Your two paragraph slice captures the not only your hopeful spirit but the contrast to the beginning and end of the day – at least here! We had about 6 inches, maybe 7 in the morning (and we were in school!) and the afternoon featured spring sun and a wee bit of warmth! Thank for sharing!

We might get another snow day tomorrow – enough already! Renewed hope => dashed optimism in one phone call and two short paragraphs.

Yikes An April snow Day. It snowed here too, but was quickly gone. Winter is still around though.

Oh man, that is a blow. Snow days have their place and more importantly their own time. It’s time to move over and let spring have a turn.

It was so frustrating not to be at school. On the bright side, I finished Dan Gemeinhart’s new book, Good Dog!
